Receiving this award recognises the exceptional development outcome achieved, the extraordinary hotel experience provided and highlights the importance of being able to connect with guests emotionally through design. Ovolo nailed this by successfully connecting the local cultural scene through art, design and food and integrating that into the fabric of a guests experience.

Located on the corner of Chapel Street and Toorak Road, the hotel is perfectly placed in the vibrant and bustling inner-urban hub. The design takes cues from the disco and rock concepts of the seventies and eighties, with an overall theme of extroverted retro glamour. Featuring 123 rooms, the hotel blends old-school aesthetics with the practicality of new technology and plenty of unexpected inclusions.
