We are thrilled to share the news that Pomeroy Pacific, after a long battle with Boroondara Council over many years, received a permit for a 7 story luxury residential development located at the famous Sofia’s restaurant in the heart of Camberwell Village.
Sofia’s has been an institution of the area for many years, and the development will see the revitalisation of an important heritage facade that has been requiring love for many years. At ground level, we will have a restaurant and wine bar, along with other retail offerings, while the upper levels will enjoy spectacular, uninterrupted CBD views.
Achieving a permit like this requires patience, strategy and an unwavering commitment to surround yourself with the best of the best. Having failed to obtain VCAT support originally, we developed a strategy with a clear plan as to how we would achieve our goal.
Rather than designing first and seeking expert support afterward, Pomeroy ran an comprehensive architectural design competition, followed by engaging experts across all key disciplines. This ensured that the design evolved from the ground up with the support of a range of third party experts and ultimately with the support of VCAT.
We are proud of all involved and can’t wait to formally launch the project to market later this year.
